I don’t have anything in particular to say except, “Watch this.”

Andrew McDonald

Andrew McDonald‘s blog post “A Pictorial Guide to Avoiding Camera Loss” made me laugh.  What a clever idea, and a perfectly executed one at that!  I like the way this guy thinks.  He recently published a children’s book called The Greatest Blogger In The World, which I think I need to buy because I imagine it is what my life would have been like if I had been born ten years later.

Geek and Poke

Geek and Poke is a hilarious online cartoon series about technology.  Great commentary on what our society has become due to our dependency on the internet and various technological gadgets.

Disconnected

Disconnected is a student-made documentary that follows three Carleton students as they attempt to go computer-less for at least three weeks.  The documentary resonates with me, as I too am a college student admittedly addicted to my computer, and I like how Disconnected focuses not only on the students’ desires to use computers recreationally, but also on the ways in which computers have become necessary to how colleges run – for example, online timesheets for student employment, computer programs for Chinese assignments, and Library search engines instead of physical card catalogues.  I highly recommend this film, which you can watch online at Hulu.  Here is the trailer:

“You like this.” Facebook Shirt

Found via You Should Buy That.  I have a number of Facebook friends who would like this shirt from Donkey Ts, which reads “You like this.”  Of all the Facebook shirts popping up on the internet, this “You like this.” shirt and the “Don’t tag me in this photo.” shirt are by far my favorites.

Web Services Cover Therapy

Found via UnplggdStéphane Massa-Bidal made book covers for some of the most popular sites.  You can see larger images here and buy prints here.

Missed Connections

Found via BlinkCast.  I have just fallen in love with Sophie Blackall‘s Missed Connections blog, where she posts drawings of New York missed connections from Craigslist and the like.  Do also check out this video about the blog.

Techno Tuesday

Techno Tuesday is a comic series by Andy Rementer, who describes the series as “an exercise in drawing comics and complaining.”  Rementer renders our technology-centered world with great insight.  His comics are quite funny and, sadly, quite true.

When Is Good

I wish I had known about When Is Good earlier, as it would have saved me a lot of hassle while planning reunion events earlier this year.  Here’s how it works: You log on to When Is Good, set up a calendar with all the suggested times for a meeting or event, and send the calendar to your guests.  Your guests then select their free times, and you can see all the results.
