Happy Socks

I’m not sure if it’s the vibrant colors, the eye-catching patterns, the perfect fit, or the fact that they were given to me by some of my favorite people, but Happy Socks really live up to their name.  I smile every time I put on a pair of these amazing socks.

Lee Crutchley Products

Lee Crutchley has been turning some of his Quoteskine creations into laptop, iPhone, and iPad skins.  Nifty!  A variety of technology skins, along with some prints, are available in his Society6 shop.

Not My Type

Found via SwissMiss.  I have fallen in love with these Not My Type tees and sweatshirts.  I want them all!  Especially that “Comic sans is not my type” sweatshirt.

Doane Paper

Doane Paper is practical and perfect.  A combination of lined paper and graph paper, Doane Paper makes sense.  I haven’t used it yet, but I am thinking of trying an entirely Doane semester in the fall.  I’m always disappointed when I ruin a lovely page of handwritten notes by attempting to draw a matrix or graph without a grid to follow, so Doane paper might just be the perfect tool for keeping my notes tidy and my lines straight.

5x8 Writing Pad in Use

Cakewich

Found via Geekologie.  Cakewich cake molds are shaped like a loaf of bread, so you can easily make cakes that look like sandwiches.  Kind of quirky, eh?  You can buy them from Perpetual Kid, Amazon, and a lot of other places.

iPad Peek

Found via Swissmiss. I haven’t been able to get my hands on a real iPad yet, but I have been able to see what some of my sites would look like in the iPad browser, thanks to a nifty site called iPad Peek.

Make City – New York City Postcards

I saw these Make City cut and fold New York postcards in a post by A Cup of Jo last week and made a mental note to repost them here.  A few days later, I opened my mailbox only to find this very set of postcards!  Thanks, Mom, for sending me these charming and recognizable reminders of my favorite city.  New York readers, you can find these in the MoMA store.

Stuff White People Like Posters

Workspace, a brand new Arkansas-based design group, has started off with an intriguing project: creating a poster version of each entry in Christian Lander’s popular humor blog Stuff White People Like.  Each month, 30 new posters will be available in the Workspace online shop.

Lens Mug

Heavy Backpack had a great post the other day about camera lenses used as coffee mugs and calendars.  I rather like this sleek zoom lens coffee mug concept posted at Gizmodo:

Barbie is a Computer Engineer

Mattel recently announced Barbie’s 126th career: Computer Engineer.  Apparently, Mattel asked Barbie fans to help pick Barbie’s 125th career (News Anchor), but so many people wanted her to be a Computer Engineer that Mattel decided to introduce two new careers.  As a female computer science student, I am thrilled to hear the news!  I haven’t bought a Barbie doll in over a decade, but I might just have to get this one.  You can read more about Computer Engineer Barbie on all sorts of blogs around the internet (such as Chip Chic and NYTimes Bits) and on Barbie’s official media website.  (Image below from PC World.)

Moleskine Passions Series

Moleskine has a new collection of notebooks, The Passion Collection, designed to help you keep track of the things you love.  Maybe I blog too much – when I saw this collection, I thought, “Oh, so it’s like blog post categories!  But where’s the journal for Stop-Motion?”  One wonders why the Passions collection only includes Music, Wine, Wellness, Books, Film, and Recipes.  What about Art and Travel?  Technology?  Regardless, the Passion Collection notebooks are sharp, well-crafted, and sure to appeal to people who like to keep their thoughts organized.

Alphabet Arm Zipper-Pulls

While browsing Boston-based design studio Alphabet Arm Design‘s great portfolio of work, I followed a link to their shop and found these  zipper-pulls.  The last zipper-pull I saw was probably shaped like a cute animal or a children’s cartoon character, so I was pleasantly surprised to find Alphabet Arm had made promotional zipper pulls that one wouldn’t be ashamed to put on one’s bag after the age of twelve.  I love the vibrant colors! Also check out Aphabet Arm’s eye-catching Alphabetical typography shirts.

IdeaPaint

Found via Pop + Shorty. With IdeaPaint, you can turn any wall into a giant dry-erase board.  When I was little, I really wanted to cover my walls in chalkboard paint, and now I am itching to cover them in IdeaPaint!  Amazing.  And I agree with Pop + Shorty, the branding is magnificent.

Inanimate

For Christmas, I got a set of these Inanimate stickers by the ever-entertaining Fred, and they are tons of fun.  Who wouldn’t want to put a pair of eyes and a mouth on every inanimate object in the room?

Tea Sub

Found via SwissMiss.  To a tired Beatles fan who enjoys a good cup of tea, the Tea Sub is nothing short of genius.

Wooden Subway Trains

The New York Transit Museum has a really rad store where you can find pretty much anything sporting your favorite subway line’s logo. I have far too many MTA products already, but I would love to get a few of these awesome wooden subway trains:

“You like this.” Facebook Shirt

Found via You Should Buy That.  I have a number of Facebook friends who would like this shirt from Donkey Ts, which reads “You like this.”  Of all the Facebook shirts popping up on the internet, this “You like this.” shirt and the “Don’t tag me in this photo.” shirt are by far my favorites.

Birkiland Sealpelts

I don’t really know what to make of these wool “Sealpelts” by Birkiland.  They look rather absurd yet cozy.  The “Babyseal” made me chuckle.

Timbuk2 Gift Certificates

I love Timbuk2 messenger bags.  They’re durable, good-looking, full of pockets, and comfortable.  I also love Timbuk2′s gift certificate containers – mini origami messenger bags!

Wovenplay Socks

I have been looking for interesting socks online for a while now.  Thanks to a post at For Me, For You, I found some neat Wovenplay socks sold by Sweet WilliamBut alas, they are made for children’s feet!  If only I had a time machine. Still, a great gift idea for friends with little kids.

Update: Wovenplay can make the socks in adult sizes, too.
